BIM CAD Technician

Job Summary:
Assists BIM Coordinator with all CAD and coordination related functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and effectively utilize the software(s) used to perform the tasks of modeling 3D models, spooling what is modeled for fabrication and modeling inside of point clouds.
- Meet required schedules driven by construction schedules.
- Ensures that data from various sources, including scans, architectural plans, engineering drawings, and specifications, are integrated into the BIM model accurately.
- Collaborate with other model designers via email or within the model itself.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in BIM technology, scanning techniques, and industry standards.
- Models HVAC piping and duct systems as well as various accessories in a 3D CAD environment to be used for coordination and construction.
- Communicates with and fields questions from field personnel and other designers about a 3D model or 2D plot drawings.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma and Revit certification or minimum 3 years of Revit drafting or modeling experience.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC piping and duct systems.
- Experience with reading and understanding engineered plan drawings.
- Ability to operate, access, and maintain diverse software applications.
- Knowledge of Autodesk software a plus.
- Be comfortable on an active construction site and be able to lift equipment with a weight of approximately 40 lbs.
