AMS began prefabricating piping systems for its own use in 1991 while working at a local chemical and pharmaceutical plant. It has become a way of life for AMS on all of its projects since then.
Prefabrication of piping systems allows a contractor to concentrate on field installation while the fabrication is done in a controlled environment. Prefabrication results in a significant increase in efficiency and quality while enhancing the project schedule by allowing accurate prefabrication of sub-assemblies for completion and staging – all while necessary preliminary work at the site is underway. Typically, shop efficiencies offset any perceived increase in a project’s total cost.
