HOLLAND HOSPITAL SURGICAL SERVICES

LOCATION: HOLLAND, MI
CONTRACT AMOUNT: $1,600,000
DESIGN: MATTEI & COLIN ASSOCIATES
SUPERVISION: RICH WACKERLE (PROJECT MANAGER), CHUCK OLNEY (FIELD SUPERINTENDENT)
CONTRACT: FULLY DESIGNED & ENGINEERED
COMPLETION DATE: AUGUST 2012

Unique Features: The project consisted of four (4) phases of work in which the first phase was an addition of three (3) new Operating Rooms and new mechanical room penthouse addition. This addition included a new Air Handling Unit and replacement of an existing Air Handling Unit in an adjacent mechanical room penthouse. These units served the new and existing Operating Rooms.

The remaining three (3) phases were completed while the adjacent areas of the hospital were still in operation. These phases included the relocation of the Prep/Recovery Area, an existing Operating Room Renovation, PACU, and Satellite Pharmacy.

Great consideration had to be taken with cleanliness and noise control as this was a fully operational Operating Room area. Shutdowns and tie-ins to existing systems had to be completed as not to affect the operation of the hospital and patient care. These systems included critical “Life-Safety” systems such as Oxygen, Medical Air, and Medical Vacuum.
